Kyla's 5 th Birthday

In July was Kyla's 5th birthday. Seems like yesterday that she was born lol. We all gathered for her birthday dinner: Hot dog and hamburgers, chips and broccoli/cheese casserole, (her favorite) and Pepsi of course!! After dinner came the birthday cake and this year it was a flip flop cuz Kyla loves all her colors of flip flops!!Kyla wasn't thrilled with her birthday spankins from Valerie and Tom:The after affect!! HA!! We told her to be happy that she was 5 instead of 35 yrs!!!
Now, for the important stuff~~~The gifts: Note, another pair of flip flops!!Kim took them to see Toy Story 3 and they loved it. Kyla fell in love with Jessie and so she got the Jessie doll, pull her string and she talks, she was thrilled. She also got lots of school clothes, games, a purse, money and a Hula Hoop and rollerskates coming soon!!A Pink dress~~Is there any other color???Kaleb was getting a Woody doll for his birthday that talks also, so we let him open his so that he would have his at the same time and they can play together with them, so here they are with their Jessie/Woody dolls.Kyla had a very nice birthday and we all had fun just being together!!

Tyler's 3 rd Birthday!!

Since I helped Jessica plan the party in May, I really wanted to come and help with the party but I didn't think that I would be able too. Jessica called Don and asked him and he cant say No to her~~So wasn't long and I was on a plane to Texas!! HA! And...to make it even better, Kim was able to fly down for 4 days to help with the party. For the party, Jessica made this really cool birthday banner:
His theme was Carnival: There were booths outside~~Fishing, beanbag toss, ducks in the water, can toss and photo booth. They got prizes for the games and she made bags for the prizes. The colors were all primary colors. She had cupcakes with carnival picks in some of them.
Before they left, there were bags of popcorn and bags of cotton candy. There was also a ton of food. Burgers and Dogs, fruit kabobs, chips, pasta salad etc. Kim made the pasta salad and it was delicious. She was a big help too.At the photo booth, I had a clown wig, nose and glasses, boas for the girls and bow tie and long ties for the guys to wear. Some kids wanted to do it and some didn't. It was funny to watch them and see their personalities come outI totally lost Tyler for the pictures and so we got his later on with the dogs.
Tyler was so excited about his birthday cupcake. He had a number 3 for his candle. Tyler likes being sung to, but then who doesn't??
On quick blow and it was OUT!!Now, comes the good stuff....presents!! And...he had a ton of them. You didn't have to tell him twice to open the gifts, even us adults are the same huh??
Tyler got games, play dough, books, play workbench/tools, puzzles backpack, book bag, a cardboard coloring house, just alot of nice gifts. He loved them all too.
Tyler loved being with Aunt Kim, no one could do things better than Aunt Kim. During the rest of the time, we swam, did some shopping, got ice-cream and ordered pizza. We just kinda laid low and it was a good time. We were just happy to be able to be there and enjoy Tyler's birthday with him.

Swimming lessons

This summer, Kyla took some swimming lessons at the YMCA. She did really good and loved the water. She learned how to kick and some strokes and she knows how to blow out and go under water, so that she doesnt have to hold her nose.
They brought the kids over and had them jump off the small platforms. She was a little leary and kinda nervous at first but she jumped off just fine.
Now she calls herself a little swimming fish or a mermaid!! They have been swimming in their pool at home and she is always underwater and she likes to dive for pennies.

Our May trip to Texas

It has been a long time since I have updated our blog. I got sick around Mothers Day and I didn't feel good at all. Don and I flew to Texas on Monday May 17 th to watch Tyler while Scott and Jess went on a 10 yr anniversary trip. On Thursday, I really felt bad and Don ended up taking me to the ER in San Antonio and I was admitted. I had gallstones in my pancreas and pancreastitus and needed my gallbladder taken out. I didn't realize how sick I really was. I was in ICU for a few days and they did a surgery and removed the gallstones and inserted a stint in the pancreas and a few days later removed the gallbladder. I was on alot of morphine so I was pretty out of it LOL
We missed our flights back home and Don stayed a few extra days with Scott and Jess which allowed him time with Tyler. He flew home after my Gallbladder surgery. I had to stay another week at Jessica's house before I could fly home. That was cool but I did end up sleeping alot. Jess took excellent care of me and fixed great meals!! I flew home June 2 nd and after I got home, I began feeling bad again. I went to the DR and he sent me to ER and I was admitted to Swedes. I think the stint had become infected and they took that out and I felt better. I went home from Swedes and began to feel bad again. I went to my Dr again and I had developed a bad stomach infection due to taking a cat scan. That infection has really affected me so it has been a long 3 months. I don't want to ever go through that again. But I am feeling much better now and eating normally, so looks like I will live afterall.
Before I went to the ER we were able to do alot of stuff with Tyler. We bought him a scooter and he picked it up right away and was riding it around the house.
When he got better, he took a few spins outside!!
We went down to the Riverwalk and rode the boats. They are pretty cool going through the canals and Tyler enjoyed the ride.
Seeing how Chick Filet is Tyler's favorite place to eat, we went there for lunch and breakfast.
I read him books......
and Grandpa played Hi Ho Cherry O with him..and Tyler always beat Grandpa...
I had some crafts for him to make. He painted a cup for Mom and Dad to share...
and he painted some window hangs for the window.....
It was pretty Hot so we took him to the pool a couple times. Grandpa played in the water with him while I sat under the shade taking pictures!!
Don and I were both sitting by the side with our feet in the water and Tyler started splashing us, so we ganged up on him and splashed him right back, LOL
Tyler helped me make a cake for Mom and Dad, a Mississippi Mud cake. He is pretty good at breaking the egg shells. He will be quite a cook someday.
A good thing happened while I was there. He potty trained himself and was doing really good, so I bought him another game. He loves to play games.

Tyler was going to have a birthday June 22 nd so while I was there, I was able to help Jess plan out the party. It was going to be a Carnival party and it would be alot of fun. So even though the trip took a different turn, it all worked out for the best and we still had fun with Tyler. I am going to update all that happened over the summer, so check back for action in the Chambers family.

Tom's birthday dinner

Last Sunday we had Tom's birthday dinner. We had homemade pizza and my dough turned out really good!! Then we had brownies and ice cream for dessert. At first we watched Zac move around. He seems to get alot of attention!!Next we ate dinner!!Then outside to play with the kids. Zac found that he could walk under grandpa's legs and he thought that was cool.Kyla and Kaleb were riding scooters so Zac thought that he better learn to ride a scooter too. I think it will still be awhile just yet LOL
We all played some SPUD and that was alot of fun too!! It was a fun evening and we all had a good time!!
