Our Colorado/Kansas trip

Over Labor day Don and I took a trip to Colorado. We love to go there but don't get there as often as we would like to. It has only been 7 yrs this time, LOL
As is our usual routine, we drive by all the trucking companies so Don can see all the trucks and the yards etc. I wont bore you with a zillion truck pictures but we do have them.
We do LOVE the mountains and we miss them very much. So second on the list was the Mountains. We also have a zillion mountain pictures too. :-)
We were only there about 4 1/2 days and we wanted to see several of our friends and family. They were done over breakfast's, lunches and dinners. It was good to see everyone again even if for a short time. I loved seeing my best friend Cindy, all through Jr high and HS. It was fun to catch up and even though we don't see each other much, it just kinda picks up where we left off at.
One day while we were there, we drove by our old houses: Dons 1st 2 places where he lived, my house, our first apt, 2nd apt and just places that we remember. We did go by the Denny's: We weren't dating at the time but we were both out on a visitation time and we got back early. While we waited for the others Don asked me if I wanted a coke and I said Yes. He thought he would be polite and ask if I wanted fries with that, thinking that I would say No. Well, if anyone offers, who am I to turn it down, lol He was surprised and said he should have seen that as a sign LOL He had another girlfriend at the time but Hey!  I got a coke and fries out of him, so I guess this is where our first conversations began. It wasn't long afterwards that they broke up and the rest is history. We had so much fun just reminiscing as we went along.
We left Colorado and went to Kansas for a few days to see my sister and her family. The Kansas state fair was going on so we went and spent 5 hours there in the 99 degree heat and it was HOT but fun!!
We saw some beautiful horses, cows, pigs, ducks, rabbits chickens, turkeys etc.
Met up with Barney Fife
We rode this because I think it gave us some breeze and saved some walking back to the front. lol
No fair is complete without a Tall man and he was very friendly!!
We hated to leave there but headed to Iowa to visit more family and back home again. It is so nice to get away but...it is so nice to get home to your own bed again!! Another successful trip!!

Kyla cheering

Kyla is doing cheer this year at school. This was her first cheer game. Gotta get limbered up to cheer.
She did a really good job. I was impressed and proud of her. She is always flipping, jumping etc around the house, guess thats what cheerleaders do LOL
