I went to pick up Zac at Machine Shed and take him to school and he was doing his homework. A front and back of the sheet too!! I mean how mean can teachers be? lol
Valerie was surprised that he gave her some trouble with not wanting to do his homework. He didnt want to color, I guess that might be a boy thing. I told her Oh, you have 12 more years to deal with homework LOL Dont worry Valerie, the tears will come for both of you LOL
Over Labor day Don and I took a trip to Colorado. We love to go there but don't get there as often as we would like to. It has only been 7 yrs this time, LOL
As is our usual routine, we drive by all the trucking companies so Don can see all the trucks and the yards etc. I wont bore you with a zillion truck pictures but we do have them.
We do LOVE the mountains and we miss them very much. So second on the list was the Mountains. We also have a zillion mountain pictures too. :-)
We were only there about 4 1/2 days and we wanted to see several of our friends and family. They were done over breakfast's, lunches and dinners. It was good to see everyone again even if for a short time. I loved seeing my best friend Cindy, all through Jr high and HS. It was fun to catch up and even though we don't see each other much, it just kinda picks up where we left off at.
One day while we were there, we drove by our old houses: Dons 1st 2 places where he lived, my house, our first apt, 2nd apt and just places that we remember. We did go by the Denny's: We weren't dating at the time but we were both out on a visitation time and we got back early. While we waited for the others Don asked me if I wanted a coke and I said Yes. He thought he would be polite and ask if I wanted fries with that, thinking that I would say No. Well, if anyone offers, who am I to turn it down, lol He was surprised and said he should have seen that as a sign LOL He had another girlfriend at the time but Hey! I got a coke and fries out of him, so I guess this is where our first conversations began. It wasn't long afterwards that they broke up and the rest is history. We had so much fun just reminiscing as we went along.
We left Colorado and went to Kansas for a few days to see my sister and her family. The Kansas state fair was going on so we went and spent 5 hours there in the 99 degree heat and it was HOT but fun!!
We saw some beautiful horses, cows, pigs, ducks, rabbits chickens, turkeys etc.
Met up with Barney Fife
We rode this because I think it gave us some breeze and saved some walking back to the front. lol
No fair is complete without a Tall man and he was very friendly!!
We hated to leave there but headed to Iowa to visit more family and back home again. It is so nice to get away but...it is so nice to get home to your own bed again!! Another successful trip!!
Last week, I helped Valerie out with her garage sale. It was kinda slow but she made the most money. This was Bailey's and Zac's favorite spot to sit and play and no, they didnt fall off, LOL
I stayed for dinner cuz she was making spaghetti bread and it was very good BTW. Anyway I was sitting there talking and turned out that there were leftover noodles. I soon found out what they do with the left over noodles. I look up to get splatted with noodles!!! Yes, they have noodle fights. I am thinkin....are these people, my family raised be wolves??? LOL Of course, being the mature person that I am, I threw them right back and hence starts the fight.
As you can see, Jake was really enjoying this noodle fight, he isnt objecting one bit. I must admit it was fun and next time I am there for spaghetti, I will be more prepared~~with maybe my own stash!! Shhhhhh
