A spring afternoon

It has been rainy here for a few days and finally a decent Spring day!
I was fixing dinner and heard singing from the front porch. I checked to see what was going on and found Kyla and Kaleb swinging, singing and playing their guitars to their little hearts desire and having a great time.
It was a nice serenade to the rest of fixing dinner :-)

Dons Birthday is today!!

Today is Don's ?? birthday: We all celebrated with some white cake for breakfast. That afterall, is the breakfast of champions!!! Don wont reveal his true age but sources do say that....... this is at least the 2nd anniversary of his 28th birthday!! We did have the Fire Dept on standby!! LOL Kyla said, "It's a little smokey in here Grandpa!!"
He says, he is still feels youthful, lots of energy, and plenty of stamina, that's his story and he is sticking to it!!

Tom's first Marathon

Last Sunday, Tom ran his first marathon. Don and I, Valerie & Jason, and Kim all saw him off downtown Rockford and then went along different spots where he would run and get pictures.

He was shooting to finish by 3:30 min and he finished 3:26 min. There were 249 runners and he finished in 31st place overall, 5th in his age group and 3rd place in the male group. WTG Tom!!!

Hugs and more Hugs

Kyla and Kaleb were playing the other night and then started huggin.... and huggin.... each other. It was so cute, that I just had to snap a shot. They generally get along pretty good and they love each other. We tease her about him being her little "bother" and Kyla says NO! he is my little brother!! LOL

Baby Lightheart

Last weekend, Valerie called to see if we wanted to come and see the baby's ultrasound and of course, I wasn't going to turn that down. So Kim, Kyla, Kaleb and myself met Jason, Valerie and Allissa at the office. The nurse is like OH my gosh!!! when she saw this long line of people coming down the hall. But in any case, we got the see the cutest little face and hands of this new baby. It is so amazing what you can see with the ultrasounds. Here are a couple pictures of measuring the baby. As of that day, He/She weighs about 5 lb 7 oz. This baby is probably looking at us and thinking, umm.....who are all these people staring at me and do I really.....want to go see them LOLThis one is the heartbeat and there's a strong heartbeat. Cant wait to hold our newest addition to the family :-) One month to go!!!! And Mom is doing good too.
